Live Delivery Protection Policy

Live bees are a time-sensitive shipment. While we take extensive precautions during harvesting, packing, and shipping, conditions during transit are outside our control.
 

What Live Delivery Protection Covers

When selected at checkout, Live Delivery Protection provides:

  • Priority handling for your shipment

  • Coverage if an entire shipment arrives deceased in transit

  • One replacement shipment or shipping credit, at our discretion

  • Coverage capped at $50 per shipment
     

Claim Requirements (All Required)

  • Entire shipment arrived deceased

  • Video documentation must be uploaded within 1 hour of the carrier delivery timestamp

  • Video must clearly show:

    • The unopened package

    • Opening of the package

    • Condition of the bees

  • Original packaging visible in the video

  • Appropriate shipping method selected for the destination (bees must arrive within 2–3 transit days)

What Live Delivery Protection Does Not Cover

  • Partial losses (individual bees)

  • Weather events, carrier delays, or service interruptions

  • Packages not retrieved promptly after delivery

  • Improper handling after delivery

  • Claims submitted after the 1-hour upload window

  • Photo-only claims (video required)

  • Orders without Live Delivery Protection selected at checkout

  • Orders shipped using an inappropriate transit method (e.g., UPS Ground to long-distance zones)

Important Notes

  • Live Delivery Protection must be purchased at the time of order and cannot be added retroactively.

  • Replacement shipments or credits are issued only if all claim requirements are met.

  • Shipping method and timing for replacement shipments are determined by Pollen Peddlers Apiary.
